Paris Hilton opted to check into the Century Regional Detention Facility a few days early after spending a few hours at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.
The 26-year-old celebutante began her three-week sentence late Sunday evening after telling reporters “I am trying to be strong right now, I'm really scared but I'm ready to face my sentence.”
Originally sentenced to 45 days after violating terms of her probation related to an earlier arrest, Hilton’s sentence was reduced to 23 days as a result of good behavior.
The star of “The Simple Life” was arrested in September and pled no contest to a reckless driving charge. Hilton had her license suspended but in January she was pulled over once again. Claiming she was unaware that her license had been suspended Hilton was signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive under any condition. In late February she was pulled over for the third time in five months after speeding down Sunset Boulevard in the evening with her lights off.
She was then charged with violating her probation and sentenced to the Century Regional Detention Facility.
