Johnny Depp may be in the same spot next year when the MTV Movie Awards roll around. On Sunday night the 43-year-old father of two took home the Golden Popcorn prize for best performance for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in last summer’s blockbuster hit “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.”
Depp then accompanied producer Jerry Bruckheimer to the stage to accept the trophy for best movie for ‘Pirates’.
With “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” currently holding the top spot at the box-office Johnny Depp may be returning in a year to collect the trophy once again.
While Depp was rewarded for his efforts he wasn’t alone in enjoying a big night.
The always entertaining Sacha Baron Cohen snagged a pair of Golden Popcorn trophies for two different movies. Cohen grabbed best comedic performance for ‘Borat’ and then was handed the trophy for best kiss, a moment he shared with Will Ferrell in the hit ‘Talladega Nights’.
MTV then honored Mike Myers with the MTV Generation Award for his long list of comedic performances over the years.
