NO VETO for S.5

Urging President Bush NOT to veto the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act (S.5)

Stand Together to End Paralysis – www.stepnow.org - Sending an unequivocal message to President Bush this week – NO VETO for S.5:
As the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act (S.5) comes up before the U.S. House of Representatives this week, with the impending threat of a second veto by President Bush, the spinal cord injured community is sending a clear message to Congress and in particular to the President that S.5 is a bill that must and should be passed into law.  This bill would provide federal funding for critical life-saving cure research, not just for those with spinal cord injuries, but also for the millions of Americans suffering from many other diseases and conditions such as diabetes, Parkinsons’s, Alzheimers’s, cancer.  There can be no single household in the country that would not ultimately benefit from the passing of this legislation. Which is why the majority of the population supports it, why a Senate majority supports it, and why Stepnow emphatically repeats to President Bush “NO VETO”.
