TD AMERITRADE Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: AMTD), even on 800,000 shares, yesterday named Fred Tomczyk the Company's new chief operating officer. Tomczyk served as the vice chairman of corporate operations for TD Bank Financial Group (NYSE:TD) and was a member of the TD AMERITRADE board of directors. He has resigned from the board and will resign from TD Bank Financial Group in order to join the Company in July.

Panera Bread Company (Nasdaq: PNRA), even on 210,000 shares, today reported system-wide comparable bakery-cafe sales increased 1.2% for the five weeks ended May 29, 2007. Additionally, the Company today adjusted its second quarter 2007 system-wide comparable bakery-cafe sales growth target to 1.5% to 2.5% from 3.5% to 4.5%. The Company is also experiencing margin pressures based on a mix shift away from products self-manufactured in its fresh dough facilities and gasoline and other input costs. Due to both this comparable sales target revision and these margin pressures, the Company is also issuing a revised second quarter 2007 earnings per diluted share target of $0.38 to $0.40. In light of these revised targets for the second quarter, the Company will update full-year targets for system-wide comparable bakery-cafe sales growth and earnings per diluted share targets as part of its second quarter earnings release planned to be issued on July 24, 2007.
XTL Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. (NASDAQ: XTLB), even on 229,000 shares, announced today that it has completed the analysis of results from a Phase I clinical trial with XTL-2125 in patients with chronic Hepatitis C. This Phase I trial was a placebo controlled, randomized, dose escalating study, which evaluated the safety, tolerability and antiviral activity of single and multiple doses of XTL-2125. The study enrolled 56 patients into seven cohorts comprised of eight patients each (of which two are placebo patients). Each patient received a single dose, followed by a 14-day multi-dosing regimen commencing one week after the single dose administration. The highest daily multi-dose regimen that was evaluated in the trial was 1800mg per day (600mg three times per day).
Acorda Therapeutics (Nasdaq: ACOR), even on 301,000 shares, announced today that it has begun a second Phase 3 clinical study of Fampridine-SR in multiple sclerosis (MS), with the randomization of its first patient into the treatment phase of the study. The study is expected to enroll approximately 200 patients at 35 leading MS clinical centers in the United States and Canada. Fifteen centers have been initiated and are in the process of screening subjects for the trial.
