Bob Barker to Host his Last Episode on “The Price is Right”
Bob Barker will officially begin his retirement on Thursday after 35 years of hosting the CBS classic game show “The Price is Right.”
The 83-year-old icon will tape his final show on Wednesday and fans from across the country and even those from north of the border traveled to CBS studios to hear Barker greet the next contestant on “The Price is Right. “
Over his 50 year career in television Barker has received 17 Emmy Awards and received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Daytime Television in 1999. Barker has also been inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.
“The Price is Right” has the distinction of being the longest-running game show in television history. The final show, to be taped Wednesday, will be aired on June 15.
