The CBS drama "Jericho" may be brought back due to fans campaigning to save the show. In their efforts to save the show fans have sent thousands of pounds of peanuts to the top CBS executives. CBS has responded by possibly bringing back "Jericho" with a seven episodes.
Plans have not yet been finalized. CBS is still talking to cast members about returning although due to a reduction of the budget some characters might not be willing to return for the second season. Several of the original writers are expected to return to write the second season.
"Jericho" is about a town in Kansas that survived nuclear attacks on the U.S. The show follows the lives of people in the town of Jericho. "Jericho" got off to a great start but struggled when it had to compete with Fox’s "American Idol."
After CBS cancelled the show in May, fans refused to let the matter drop. In response to the cancellation they sent thousands of pounds of nuts to CBS. The idea for sending nuts came from the first-episode finale where a neighboring town wanted to surrender. In response to the request to surrender Ulrich’s Jake Green said "Nuts."
CBS still has many obstacles to overcome but they are trying to finalize plans to bring the show back.
