Double Bombing in Karachi Leaves at least 22 Dead, Many More injured

A pair of suicide bombings targeting Shia Muslims in the Pakistani city of Karachi has left at least 22 people dead and more than 50 injured.

According to reports the initial blast was caused when a bomber on a motorcycle slammed into a packed bus carrying Shia Muslims to a religious procession. That blast killed 12 people and several of the injured were taken to a local hospital.

About an hour after the first attack a second suicide bomber on a motorcycle detonated an explosive outside the emergency room ward of the same hospital were the initial victims were being treated.

There have been no claims of responsibility in the attacks but the Taliban is suspected due to the nature of the bombings.
