The latest Hollywood hit movie “Knocked-Up” may be knocked out in court if Rebecca Eckler has her way. The Canadian author filed a lawsuit against NBC Universal and the film’s director Judd Apatow claiming copyright infringement.
Eckler penned a book by the same name in 2004 and states that the premise of the book and the movie are very similar.
Staring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen, the film depicts an up-and-coming reporter who celebrates a promotion by going out and getting drunk. After sleeping with a less than desirable man she finds out she is pregnant.
In Eckler’s book the woman is an up-and-coming newspaper reporter who becomes pregnant after getting drunk following an engagement celebration.
The lawsuit, seeking unspecified damages, was filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles in January.
