Nonprofit organizations can learn easy, free web publishing tools in a Feb. 24 webinar, “Wordpress for Nonprofits: No Resources, No Problem.” The event, hosted by ReadyTalk.com, starts at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific).
Wordpress is a free, powerful and easy-to-use web publishing platform. Presenters Don Cambpell, CEO of Expand2Web.com and Dennis Yu, CEO of BlitzLocal.com, have helped numerous nonprofits and small businesses set up attractive, effective sites that are easily found by search engines. Presenters will offer a free Wordpress template (known as a theme) to webinar participants.
Wordpress has advantages to small enterprises because it’s free and it easily incorporates community connections, Facebook integration, blogging, email marketing into the site structure.
The webinar is free and open to any nonprofit or organization using social media platforms and interested in using Wordpress to improve their marketing efforts. Advance registration is required and can be made by clicking ReadyTalk's Web Seminar Series link right here.
Nonprofits interested in the topic but unable to join the session, are encouraged to register to receive a recording of the event.
BlitzLocal.com is an online agency specializing in local lead generation via integrating Facebook advertising with social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising, directory listings, web analytics, and call tracking. Clients include Quiznos, Equifax, Maggianos, Famous Daves', and other national retail and franchised outlets.
Yu is a 14 year veteran of online marketing via Yahoo! and American Airlines. He has spoken at SMX West, SMX Singapore, SMX Sydney, Affiliate Convention, the American Marketing Association, and other venues. He and his teammates also provide pro bono Google Adwords management to select non-profits, including March of Dimes, Grameen Foundation, International Rescue Committee, and others.
Don Campbell created Expand2Web.com to help small business owners build WordPress websites that rank in the top of local search results on Google, Yahoo and Bing, in addition to helping organizations build strategy around effective web presence.
His tech career began with a 30-person start-up company called Interwoven, and became an instrumental part of the company's growth to 1,000 people and completing an IPO in 2000. He has advised companies such as eBay, Amazon, FedEx, Cisco & Ford on their web content management tools and procedures. As a Group Product Manager responsible for a $5M product line, he also presented internationally at technology conferences like Microsoft TechEd, IBM WebSphere and many others.
Other webinars in the series will feature experts on Google Grants, an in-kind donation program that awards free AdWords advertising to select (qualified) charitable organizations. Another will focus on Facebook and how to utilize the social network to increase awareness and engagement on both a national and local level. Additional details for both events will be available on the ReadyTalk website.
ReadyTalk, a leader in integrated web and audio conferencing services, announced the five-part “Online Marketing for Nonprofits” series last month to help nonprofits fine-tune their search marketing, find funding through Google Grants, use Facebook for targeted outreach, and deploy other free resources and tools.
