Sean Connery Says “Retirement too Much Damn Fun” Won’t Be Back for Indiana Jones

It has been nearly 20 years since Sean Connery played the role of Harrison Ford’s father in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and the 76-year-old Connery figures Indy could do without the fatherly advice in the newest installment due out May 22, 2008.

Connery released a statement on the ‘Indiana Jones’ website today making his decision not to return to the franchise official, saying “"I thought long and hard about it, and if anything could have pulled me out of retirement it would have been an `Indiana Jones' film. I love working with Steven and George, and it goes without saying that it is an honor to have Harrison as my son, but in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun.”

While the new ‘Indiana Jones’ flick doesn’t have a name yet it does have some serious star-power. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas still have Harrison Ford on the marquee and they have added Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, John Hurt and Ray Winstone to the cast

Connery’s finished his comments on the website with a quick bit about the assembled crew for the highly anticipated movie, “This is a remarkable cast, and I can only say, Break a leg, everyone.”
