The Indianapolis Colts will go into Week 10 with a firm hold on the AFC South. The Colts are two games ahead of the second place Houston Texans and Andrew Luck has the team clicking on all cylinders. Indianapolis holds the leagues best offense. They rank number one in points scored, total yards, and yards passing. Luck is in the process of writing his own legacy as trying to be the best quarterback in franchise history, a tough measure to accomplish following in the footsteps of Peyton Manning and Johnny Unitas.
Finishing the season strong should be no problem for Andrew Luck. A Week 11 match up against Tom Brady and the Patriots will be the toughest test for the Colts on their remaining schedule. With three division games left to play, that leaves a huge opportunity for the Colts to build on their lead in the AFC South. After a disappointing loss against the Steelers where they lost 51-34, they bounced back to beat the New York Giants 40-24 on Monday Night Football in Week 10. Through the first nine games of the season, Luck is the league’s best quarterback throwing for 26 touchdowns and over 3,000 passing yards.
Luck is only one of 53 players on the roster for the Colts. While he is the most important part of the team, there certainly are plenty other contributing factors to the success of the team. The defense ranks in the middle of the league in terms of stats. Defensive stats can be misconstrued when your offense is beating up people and forcing teams to play from behind. The Colts hold control of their destiny in terms of the NFL Playoffs.
