After Week 9 of the NFL Season the Philadelphia Eagles are in sole possession of first place in the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys knocking at the back door. Dallas is a half game back of the Eagles with two matchups head to head still remaining on the schedule. Last week the Eagles surpassed the Houston Texans, however it did come at a cost.
The high-powered offense that Chip Kelly brought over from the Eagles has been working in the NFL the past two seasons. In the game against the Texans, starting quarterback, Nick Foles suffered a fractured collarbone. The injury will put the Eagles quarterback out of action for the next six weeks. Stepping in will be Mark Sanchez that signed with the team in the offseason after leaving the New York Jets.
Jeremy Maclin who pays wide receiver for the Eagles has been the standout player for the team. He currently has 790 yards and eight touchdowns. Sanchez will definitely be turning to the explosive player in the upcoming weeks. The defense for Philadelphia is not the best that the team has ever seen. They rank towards the bottom of the league in most of the major defensive categories, however the offense still puts up more points than the opposition. In order for the Eagles to keep their season going in the right direction, the offense and Mark Sanchez will have to keep that trend going.
