Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul continues to see his campaign contributions rise and since the last Republican debate in New Hampshire his supporters have added more dough to the Congressman’s coffers.
While still considered a second-tier candidate by many in the media, Paul’s rising popularity on the internet has translated into more coverage by television and news outlets and thus a wider familiarity amongst the American people.
For Paul, this all means a swell in campaign donations that have now reportedly reach several millions of dollars.
Ron Paul began seeing his campaign contributions surge after the May 15 Republican presidential debate in South Carolina. Paul’s exchange with fellow candidate Rudy Giuliani concerning foreign policy and the Iraq war made front page news and truly brought his campaign to light.
As the only Republican candidate who opposes the U.S. involvement inside Iraq Paul has attracted not only a large number of new supporters, but their dollars as well.
Following the June 5 Republican presidential debate at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire Paul had another surge in contributions that has lifted his campaign chest into several millions that will aid in his quest to the White House.
In contrast to the South Carolina debate, Paul opted to hold off on exchanging attacks on other candidates and allowed his platform to stand on its own. Seen as a tactical maneuver that displayed strength rather than desperation the move has apparently worked.
Already dominating the internet and becoming one of the most searched individuals on the web, Paul has parlayed his tact in debates into added dollars and the necessary exposure offered by television outlets.
