Polyglot Systems’ flagship solution, Meducation®, has been prevalidated by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to receive 3 points in autocredit towards NCQA’s PCMH 2011 scoring. Healthcare providers who use Meducation could now be eligible to receive this autocredit when seeking PCMH 2011 recognition through NCQA.
Organizations that obtain PCMH validation may see increased reimbursement from payers and an overall decreased cost of care. Meducation contributes towards these goals by ensuring that all patients can understand their medication instructions. By generating instructions in 19 languages, with intuitive formats, large fonts, pictograms and videos, the software creates dynamic medication instructions that are engaging and easy to understand. In doing so, Meducation has been shown to significantly improve medication adherence. This is critical to reducing hospital readmission rates, improving patient satisfaction and, most importantly, helping patients improve the quality of their health.
“The need is serious,” said Polyglot CEO Sims Preston, “1 in 3 Americans, over 90 million people, have so much difficulty understanding their medication instructions that their ability to properly manage their own healthcare is compromised. This results in unnecessary hospitalizations, nursing home admissions, deaths and increased healthcare costs.”
Meducation is designed as a cloud based software application. This allows for easy integration to electronic medical records or pharmacy management systems and deployment by virtually any practice.
"By providing software that helps physician practices build the patient-focused coordinated care infrastructure expected of NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Polyglot is helping practices be part of modern healthcare’s most important transformations,” said NCQA president Margaret E. O’Kane . "Medical homes are the way of the future, and Meducation is helping practices get there.”
