The Mason-Dixon Polling & Research pollster polled 361 likely Republican primary voters from June 4-7 and Mike Huckabee jumped from the bottom tier into the second tier. Huckabee is one of only five candidates to poll better than 1%.
According to the Huckabee polls stat sheet by USAElectionPolls.com, 5% represents the highest percentage the candidate has received outside of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Huckabee had a great performance at the third GOP debate on June 5th where he set himself apart from the group as the true Christian conservative. "Traditional conservatives are choosing Huckabee because they see Giuliani and McCain as pro-choice and Romney as a flip-flopper" says USAElectionPolls. Huckbaee needed that debate to get his name out there and now he needs to keep that momentum going into the primaries to have any formidable chance.
