The University of New Hampshire conducted a poll of 309 Democratic primary voters statewide for CNN/WMUR from June 6-10 this year. Hillary Clinton extends her lead over Barack Obama 36-22. John Edwards, Al Gore, and Bill Richardson were in a three-way dead heat 12-12-10 respectively.
John Edwards is polling the lowest he ever has in the state. USAElectionPolls.com suggests his drop in the polls was a direct consequence of his petty bickering at the Democratic debate on June 3. "Clinton and Obama voted the same as he did on the latest Iraq appropriations bill but he tried to play petty politics and distance himself from the other two by when his vote was cast."
Primary voters are very tentative to vote for the candidate that they see as playing politics within the party. They want a unified party. John Edwards should know that from his second place finish in Iowa in 2004 after voters rejected Howard Dean and Dick Gephardt for attacking each other.
"Bill Richardson is running a very positive campaign and voters are starting to support Bill Richardson in lieu of John Edwards" says USAElectionPolls.com.
