NFL News: Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne Tweaks Knee in Practice, Expected to Play in Super Bowl

The Indianapolis Colts are already facing the prospect of playing Super Bowl XLIV without their All-Pro defensive end Dwight Freeney and on Friday they almost lost their four-time Pro Bowl receiver Reggie Wayne after he aggravated his injured right knee.

Wayne pulled up short on a pass route during Friday’s practice and left about 20 minutes early to receive treatment but he has said he will be ready on Sunday when the Colts face the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV.

The injury to the right knee has been with Wayne for most of the season but he was able to put that aside and had 100 receptions for 1,264 yards and ten touchdowns as one of Peyton Manning’s favorite targets.
