The animal rights group PETA has written to jailbird Paris Hilton asking her to become a spokesperson for chickens’ rights. They have reprtedly asked the hotel heiress to narrate a video addressing the issue of cruelty to chickens.
Dan Matthews of PETA stated, "We’re asking Paris to narrate our Kentucky Fried Cruelty video showing how chickens are routinely crammed into tiny cages and suffer broken wings and legs, unlike inmates at the jail in L.A., these animals get no reprieve or medical treatment."
Mathew’s thinks they will get a good response from Hilton, 26, and he points out they reached Martha Stewart while she was in jail. "We have a good track record at reaching celebrities behind bars, when Martha Stewart was incarcerated we wrote her and got a very friendly reply saying that she’d stopped wearing fur, and when she got sprung she narrated PETA’s anti-fur video, still watchable at PETATV.com."
PETA has come up with Paris’ slogan for a "pro-chicken campaign": "KFC—that’s not hot."
