White Stripes perform for veterans

The White Stripes, known for their albums White Blood Cells and Elephant, played for British military veterans at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea houses British military veterans on pension or who suffer from injuries they received from battle. The White Stripes are donating proceeds to the hospital to help them build a new infirmary.

The duo was dressed in their normal red and white as they sang some of their hits to the veterans including "Hotel Yorba" and "St. James Infirmary Blues."

The White Stripes, who are from Detroit, are performing in Britain to promote their new album "Icky Thump." The album is being released on Tuesday of next week.
