Gurufish: Featured Findit Artisit of the Week

The launch of music within the FindIt website is featuring the artist of the week, Gurufish. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, the band has a unique sound that is unlike any other band. The genre of music that they perform and write falls into a mixture of Soul and Pop. Gurufish considers their music Glittersoul. They been credited for their over the top performances that are known for getting the crowd excited and into the performance.

Their most recent album is titled Mohair Supreme. In order to showcase their hard work the band has been performing shows as much as possible to help promote the album.

The next show on the docket for Gurufish is on New Year’s Eve at Painted Pin in Atlanta, GA at 10:00 pm.

Gurufish has been together for years and the members include the founder and singer Jimmy St. James, Matty Haze on guitar, DeWitt Ellis on bass, and Steve Dixon on drums. The four members have an impressive resume that includes sharing the bill with The Brand New Heavies, Nikka Costa, P.M. Dawn, The Spin Doctors, Derek Trucks, The Flaming Lips, Galactic, Cypress Hill, Ghostland Observatory, The White Stripes, LMFAO, The Isley Brothers, Dag, Foreigner, and the P-Funk Allstars.

Back in February of 2010, Ear Magazine labeled the sexy, funky jazz band as “the best band you’ve never heard of. If you fall into the category of one of those people who haven’t heard of them then I suggest giving your ears the pleasure of hearing the soulful act.

Catchy tracks that have just the right amount of sex appeal truly make this band one of a kind. The inspiration for their music can’t be attributed to just one source. “ In regards to what inspires the music for the Atlanta band “It could be anything in life at any moment”, says St. James. The great part of Gurufish music is that any individual can put on a track and enjoy it.
