Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and the rest of George Clooney’s thirteen have the Fantastic Four outnumbered but will it be enough this weekend to retain the top spot at the box office?
“Ocean’s Thirteen” brought in $37.1 million last weekend to bump Johnny Depp and the crew of “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” out of number one position and the same fate could be cast upon Clooney’s cohorts when “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” hits screens today.
While Pitt, Clooney and Damon may lead an impressive lineup, Fantastic Four has Jessica Alba who has no problem drawing a crowd herself.
The Marvel Comics inspired flick will bring Reed Richards, Susan Richards, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm back together as the crime fighting quarter who are now faced with fighting off the Silver Surfer and Galactus in an attempt to save the planet.
Its been nearly two years since Fox released “Fantastic Four” and the company is hoping for the same type of success for its follow up. The original brought in close to $350 million worldwide.
