The wildly successful Indian actor Rajnikanth, commonly called Rajni, has sparked such high anticipation for his latest film, “Sivaji The Boss,” that fans of the Tamil speaking 57-year-old have been going to great lengths to secure a ticket to the Friday opening.
Rajnikath’s fame is largely restricted to southern India due the language barrier of his films yet the devotion and size of his fan base can not be matched by the stars of Bollywood and it rivals the top stars in Hollywood.
The film tells the story of Sivaji Arumugam, a man who goes to the U.S. to make his fortune but returns to India to use his money to benefit the common man. Sivaji is betrayed by a man he thought to be a friend and falls victim to several plots and schemes organized against him. Seemingly defeated Sivaji places the fate of his detractors in the flip of a coin and the result turns out poorly for his enemies.
