Allen Iverson Assault Trial Won’t Include 50 Cent
The assault trial involving NBA superstar Allen Iverson will not be including rapper 50 Cent after a federal judge ruled the 31-year-old would not have to testify in the case set for later this month.
Iverson is accused of starting a fight in which he hit customer with a bottle at a Washington bar in 2005. Two customers are suing the Denver Nuggets guard as well as his entourage for the fight, charging them with assault, conspiracy as well as other charges.
Lawyers for the two customers stated that while 50 Cent was not involved in the fight, he knew members of Iverson’s security crew and could offer testimony related to their behavior.
Because 50 Cent lives more than 100 miles from the court the federal judge said she did not jurisdiction and he would not have to appear for the case.
Iverson and his entourage are being sued for more than $5 million in the case.
