Baltimore Orioles Fire Sam Perlozzo as Manager
Unhappy with a their last-place standing and their current eight-game slide the Baltimore Orioles front-office dropped the ax on manager Sam Perlozzo on Monday.
Currently sitting at 29-40, 15.5 games behind the American League East leading Boston Red Sox and two games behind the Tampa Bay Devil Rays the season has turned sour quickly for the Orioles.
Less than three weeks ago they were 27-27 and in second place in the AL East but dropped 13 of 15 including the last eight games of a nine game homestand.
Dave Trembley, the current bullpen coach for the Orioles, will take over as interim manager until they can find a permanent replacement for Perlozzo.
Joe Girardi is believed to be high on the list of potential candidates for the job.
