Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway toys have been recalled. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that the wooden toys are coated with paint that has high amounts of lead in them. They say the paint poses potential danger to children if the child puts the toy in their mouth or swallows pieces.
The toy company that makes the toys, RC2, announced the recall last Wednesday. Toys marked with WJ or AZ, on the bottom of the toy or inside the battery cover, are not included in the recall. Only wooden pieces from the Thomas and Friends train set called “Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway” are under the recall.
Authorities suggest discontinuing use of the toys and returning them to the company. RC2 is replacing all toys brought back to the company.
