Obama’s Campaign Makes A Major Blunder

Last week Barack Obama’s campaign had issued a memo which inferred that Hillary Clinton could represent India since she had a lot of investments in the country.

The memo alluded to Hillary Clinton’s investments in Indian companies and her efforts to raise funds from the Indian-American community. It also had a comment that Clinton had made in March 2007 when she had said that she could run for the Senate seat in Punjab, a state in India, and win quite easily.

Obama said that neither he nor his senior staff had seen the memo, and thought it was “stupid” and “caustic”. He further added that the memo in no way reflected his views on the issue of outsourcing or his longstanding relationship with the Indian-American community.

Obama acknowledges that his research team made a mistake by circulating the memo and took full responsibility for the blunder. But he was quick to say that he and his campaign had apologized to all those concerned.
