Britney Spears forces billboards to be taken down

Britney Spears forced a radio station in Tampa, Florida to remove billboards advertising the radio stations “The MJ Morning Show.” The billboard displayed images of Spears with a frown and a bald head and morning show host Todd Schnitt. Beside the picture of the “Toxic” singer and talk show host the slogans “Total Nut Jobs”, “Shock Therapy”, and “Certifiable” were written.

The billboards were taken down after Spears, 25, threatened legal action. The pop singer's attorney accused Clear Channel Communications Inc. of “offensive, unauthorized commercial exploitation” of Spears and demanded the removal of the three offensive billboards immediately.

Clear Channel spokesperson Michele Clarke confirmed the removal of the billboards. Schnitt commented: “Clear Channel has removed the billboards, and I’m not happy with that.”

Following wild behavior that included shaving her own head, Spears completed a month in a rehab center in Malibu, California earlier this year. She was recently divorced from rapper Kevin Federline with whom she has two children.
