Former NBA All-Star Vin Baker was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he failed a sobriety test early Tuesday morning.
The 14-year veteran was leaving the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Norwich, Connecticut when he was stopped for driving erratically. Baker was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
Despite his lengthy career in the NBA, Baker struggled with alcoholism and depression throughout his time in the league. He was let go by the Boston Celtics midway through the 2003-04 season as a result of his alcoholism.
Baker retired in 2006 after the Minnesota Timberwolves released him six games into the season.
Baker was a four-time NBA All-Star and was part of the U.S. Olympic team that won gold in 2000.
