Two months after the presidents of China and the United States pledged to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, Stanadyne LLC, a fuel systems developer based in Windsor, Connecticut, and Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd, an engine manufacturer based in China, have partnered to develop a series of fuel-efficient engine products. Specifically, Stanadyne signed a five-year agreement to become the strategic rotary pump supplier for Yuchai’s off-highway products.
Stanadyne is a global leader in the design and manufacture of diesel and gasoline fuel systems. The company specializes in next-generation pumps and injectors designed to meet rigorous global emissions standards, and aims to bring its technology to engine manufacturers in emerging markets. Yuchai is one of the largest leading diesel engine manufacturers in China. In partnering with Stanadyne, the company aims to strengthen its position in Chinese markets and set the stage for global expansion.
Representing Stanadyne at the signing ceremony were Robert Isaman, Executive Chairman of the Board; David Galuska, CEO; Dr. John Pinson, President and CTO; and Mike Zhu, Managing Director of Stanadyne Changshu Corporation.
Representing Yuchai were Ningbin Chen, Vice GM; Zhiqiang Lin, Chief Engineer; Shiming Yang, Director of Quality Engineering; Guoqiang Hu, Director of General Machinery, Engine Research and Development; and Shouyu Lu, Performance Chief Engineer, Engine Research and Development.
“Yuchai and Stanadyne initially became global partners in 2007, and today’s game-changing agreement is our largest collaboration to date,” said Dr. Pinson. “As the primary rotary pump supplier for Yuchai generator products and strategic partner for off-highway engines, I’m confident our fuel efficient technologies will help Yuchai move upmarket in the rapidly expanding Chinese economy and lay the foundation for worldwide expansion.
”
“Stanadyne has more than a century of unmatched technical prowess, a standard for innovation that continually creates lighter, smaller, lower-cost fuel injection products,” says Hu, Yuchai's Director of General Machinery, Engine Research and Development. “Specifically, Stanadyne’s rotary pumps for our high-end tractor, combine and diesel-electric generators -- as well as the technical training our company will receive -- will help build our market presence within China and ultimately position Yuchai performance engines on the global landscape.”
