Reacht Launches New App For Audience Engagement, Delivers Better Social Engagement for Radio Stations

Reacht is a real-time polling app that radio stations are using to better involve listeners. Reachtgroups get 30-40 percent engagement, compared with Facebook, which get less than 1 percent.

Reacht is a new polling app being used by radio stations to drive greater audience involvement, increase listening frequency, and attract new listeners. Stations are getting a 35 percent engagement rate - meaning 35 percent of listeners in their Reacht group answer every question the station asks. Compare that to the less than 1 percent of fans that engage with a Facebook post (Twitter is even lower) and Reacht is quickly becoming an attractive social media option.

“Reacht was created to do one thing very well,” says Reacht CEO Rob Page. “Ask a question to a group of people and aggregate and share the data real-time.”

With Reacht, a radio host asks her listeners a question based on what she is talking about on the show. Listeners in her group receive a push notification (like a text message) on their phone and answer it with a click. The listeners and host receives the aggregated results and can share them on the show and on social media.

Reacht works because listeners and fans don't have to search for the content on Facebook and Twitter; it is delivered directly to them via a push notification.

“Reacht is better than Facebook and Twitter, says Christal Blue, co-host of More in the Morning on Thunder 104.5. “I ask a question, it goes right to my listeners' phones and within seconds I have hundreds of people telling me exactly what they think. That is my favorite!” After a month of using Reacht, Christal and Thunder 104.5 have over 250 group members with an engagement rate over 40%.

Radio stations will generate digital ad revenue from Reacht by showing geo- and behavioral-targeted ads after listeners answer questions. This is in stark contrast to Facebook and Twitter, which are making it increasingly hard for stations to promote themselves without paying for ads. “Think of Reacht as the GoogleAd Sense for radio,” says Page.
