Keyword Brainstorming For SEO: Shweiki Media Printing Company Presents a Webinar With Surefire SEO Strategies

Here Shweiki Media Printing Company teams up with Stephan Spencer, co-author of "The Art of SEO," to present a webinar on the benefits of keyword brainstorming and how to research keywords effectively.

SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. It’s a process that affects a website's visibility in a search engine's results by considering how search engines work, what people search for, keywords used and which search engines different audiences prefer.

When determining what keywords to target when creating a website, keyword brainstorming is the first step. When determining keywords to use for a website, it is important to start out small, using less competitive keywords, and build up to more competitive keywords. Also, the more exposure a person receives—for example, through newspaper articles and conference appearances—the more opportunities he or she has to get more links and become more competitive.

Keyword Research

It’s important to research keywords to determine their viability. The best way to research to popularity of keywords is to use a search engine, type in words, and see what happens. The right keywords to target have to be popular, relevant and obtainable. If a person targets the wrong keywords, then all of his or her efforts would be in vain.

Tools For Brainstorming:

  • Google Suggest is a great tool to determine which keywords are popular related to a subject. For example, if someone types “Neopets” into the search bar, they will see that “Neopets avatar” and “Neopets cheats” are very popular keywords. With this knowledge, a person can now create a title that effectively uses these popular keywords in order to get more links to his or her website.
  • Yahoo Search gives different search suggestions than Google Suggest. This is why it is important to get search suggestions from multiple search engines in order to get the widest range of results.
  • Soovle is a very handy tool for comparing multiple results. It shows search suggestions simultaneously from Google, Amazon, Yahoo, Bing, YouTube, Answers and Wikipedia.
  • Google Trends provides data on the popularity of different keywords by showing regional interests, rising terms and top terms. It also allows someone to compare up to five different keywords at a time. This is a good way to test different words to determine which word is more popular based on which verb tense is used and if it is singular or plural.
