Lindsay Lohan extending her stay in rehab

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly planning to stay in rehab longer than was initially intended. The “Mean Girls” star is currently at Promises rehab facility in Malibu, California for alcohol and drug abuse.

This is the second time this year that the 20-year-old has been in rehab. Lohan crashed her car into a curb, suffered minor injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence. The police also found a “usable” amount of cocaine in her car.

Lohan was scheduled to leave at the end of this week; just in time for her 21st birthday bash, but has decided to stay at the facility until she has fully recovered and cancel the birthday party.

“She is staying in Promises for longer than a month. We don’t know how much longer because of her work schedule, but she is taking rehab very seriously this time and not messing around,” a source to the New York Post.

The troubled actresses’ birthday party was supposed to be held at the PURE nightclub in Las Vegas, but she cancelled the event on Monday.

“Due to the unique circumstances Lindsay’s birthday party at PURE Nightclub has been cancelled. We think the world of her and look forward to working with her in the future,” said PURE rep Kate Turner.
