Methamphetamine Addiction Is Treatable

Methamphetamine use and manufacture in Ohio is showing an alarming increase. The state is doing an admirable job of working to keep methamphetamine production and distribution under control as best as they possibly can. This includes passing tough criminal laws that address meth production and distribution, as well as keeping track of and limiting the sale of common materials used in meth production.

Even with the heavy criminal penalties, Ohio still has to fight to keep meth from being brought into the State through local as well as outside sources. These include those within the State who have literally made it their “business” to supply meth for distribution, along with those people who are part of “outlaw motorcycle gangs”. There are also smaller incidences of influence from Mexican criminal groups involving the distribution of meth.

Those citizens of Ohio and other states that may be old enough to remember the proliferation of “biker gangs”, as they are also referred to, back in the late ‘60s and part of the ‘70s, may find it shocking to realize that such groups still exist.

It is easy to believe that they were or are considered more a part of the “hippie” and “free love” culture of those times, and have pretty much ridden off into the sunset, so to speak. To learn that there are still active gangs, and that these gangs, in turn, can be pointed to as a true part of the meth distribution problem is sobering.

No matter how the meth gets into Ohio or any state, however, the sad fact is that where there is meth, there will be meth addiction. But, knowing that addiction treatment center locations in Ohio are available to help can be comforting to families who want to get help for a loved one who has a meth addiction.
