Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Kevin Garnett quickly put to rest the trade rumors involving his name and the Boston Celtics by saying he had no interest in joining the storied franchise.
Garnett’s agent, Andy Miller, simply stated “the Boston trade isn’t happening,” and went on to say “if a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing.”
Having played his entire 12-year career in Minnesota after being selected with the fifth pick in the 1995 NBA Draft it appears Garnett’s days in a Timberwolves jersey are numbered.
Minnesota general manager Kevin McHale recently told the Star Tribune “Kevin has meant a lot to this franchise, the most important thing is looking at the franchise and what gives you the best opportunity to win.” McHale continued, “Do I know what the future holds? No. If somebody offers you something that is phenomenal, you never say never. If a team says, 'We'll give you X and Y and this and that,' you have to look. But I haven't seen player X and Y and everything else coming out of the woodwork either.”
