After a seven year layoff the Smashing Pumpkins have reunited are set to kick off their first U.S. tour in 13 years and they will be starting at The Orange Peel in Ashville, North Carolina.
With a maximum capacity of 942 people, The Orange Peel didn’t seem like the appropriate setting for a band that has sold over 18 million albums in the U.S. but the foursome sought the club out and opted to play their first nine shows in the intimate locale.
After playing nine shows in Ashville the Smashing Pumpkins will head to East Rutherford to take the stage at the Al Gore inspired Live Earth concert on July 7. They will then head to San Francisco where they will play eleven shows at The Fillmore. On August 5 they will play at the Virgin Festival in Baltimore before heading off to Europe for a series of shows.
The Smashing Pumpkins will perform at The Orange Peel on Saturday, June 23 and follow with dates on the 24, 26, 27, 29, 30, July 2, 3 and 5th.
