Dream Analyst, David Rivinus, to be Interviewed On “Beyond 50” Radio

Portland, Oregon-based “beyond50radio.com” will interview dream analyst, David Rivinus, during an hour-long show to be broadcast at noon Pacific time, on Friday, July 31, 2015. The subject will be dreams and their purpose in our lives. Rivinus will offer examples and case histories to illustrate his theories and dream interpretation methods.

Among the topics discussed will be Rivinus’s idea that dreaming does not happen only during sleep, but also during the waking hours. He is not referring to day dreaming—where someone allows his mind to wander in idle fantasizing. Rather, Rivinus feels that all events during our normal day-to-day living can also be understood as dreams. “We seem to live in a kind of paradox,” he says, “where we deal with life as an objective experience on one hand, but also as a series of metaphoric events on the other.”

According to Rivinus, who is the author of the book “Always Dreaming,” it is especially the unusual events of our normal, waking lives that are important dreams. “I call these incidents ‘waking dreams,’” he says. According to Rivinus, one can take these unusual occurrences and deal with them exactly as if they were nighttime dreams. “You can analyze these events exactly as if you were interpreting a dream you had during sleep, and you get the same insightful results.

Rivinus claims that dreams are messages from our subconscious minds that usually are describing a conflict that the dreamer is experiencing. “While there are many exceptions, dreams tend to be communications from our deepest selves describing a discrepancy between something we feel we ought to be doing and something we would prefer to be doing instead.”

All of these topics will be discussed in detail during the radio show which will be broadcast live. Beyond50radio.com is an online radio program that caters to an audience that is approaching retirement age. It specializes in topics of interest to those whose work careers have peaked and whose interests are, perhaps, moving in other, more philosophical directions. Topics can range from the most practical concerns to metaphysical issues.

Dream analyst, David Rivinus, is the author of the book “Always Dreaming” published by Ozark Mountain Publishing.
