Dream Analyst David Rivinus Will Be Interviewed On Radio
In a follow-up to his successful interview on the Beyond-50
radio network hosted by Daniel Davis, dream analyst David Rivinus will be a
guest on the show again. The program will air at noon on September 25th,
and can be listened to at www.beyond50radio.com.
This interview will emphasize techniques of dream
interpretation. “During the first show, we mostly discussed the principles involved
in understanding dreams, and spoke more theoretically to try and give the
show’s listeners an overview,” says Rivinus. This time the topics will be more
specific. “We will delve into specific dreams and talk our way through an
analysis of each one.”
According to Rivinus, dreams are unusual in that they should
rarely be taken literally. “One of the biggest mistakes dreamers make,” he
says, “is to become emotionally invested in the dream plot.” He points out that
this is easy to do because dreams work hard to make certain that they are
remembered from the depths of sleep. For that reason they tend to depict scenes
and scenarios that are somewhat bizarre and exaggerated. “The dreamer is more
likely to recall a startling or totally implausible storyline than a believable
plot.”
None of this really matters, however. Rivinus says that the
dream message is hidden in the metaphors that the various dream scenes
represent. “Metaphor is a universal language;” he claims, “it is a part of
every culture on the planet.” According to him, it is also the language of
dream. Hence, the goal of understanding dreams is to learn how to decipher the
metaphors and understand the message they are working so hard to communicate.
“The techniques are not particularly difficult to learn,” he
explains, “but there is a knack to it, and going through the steps a few times
can be helpful.” In the past, Rivinus has taken dreams live on the air and has
helped dreamers understand them. For the upcoming program, he will probably be
asked to work with dreams presented to him by host, Daniel Davis. “Either way,
it should be helpful to listeners, because they will be witnesses as the oddness
of dream plots suddenly come into lucid focus when the message is revealed.”
Rivinus believes that all dreams contain important information for the dreamer.
Rivinus is the author of the book “Always
Dreaming.” For more information, go to www.teacherofdreams.com
