and operated flower shop, announced that it is participating in the fourth
annual Sweetest
Day Toy Drive and will be accepting donations now through October 17th.
Steve Ozment, Owner of Flowerama Columbus, said, “Our flower
shops in Columbus continue to be committed to helping our local community.
That’s why we are again partnering with Nationwide Children’s Hospital on this
special toy drive to help those in need with special gifts. Doing it on the
Sweetest Day reminds us that we all can stop and take the time to do something
thoughtful for others in our area, especially babies, toddlers, children and
teens.”
The website for this special toy drive provides a list of
gifts to buy, such as games, game systems, building kits, arts and crafts and
more, as well as ideas for gifts to make, including pillows, quilts, blankets,
activity kits and toiletry kits. The website also lists information on indirect
services that can be provided that would assist as well. There is also a place
to make an online monetary donation where the funds will be used to purchase
toys and gift items for children in need.
In terms of any restrictions, this toy drive is not
accepting any used toys. The only type of toys that will be accepted are those
with tags attached and items in their original packaging. They also are not
accepting anything with food or candy, VHS tapes, or any toys that are
considered weapons or have violent themes, such as swords, knives, or guns.
Unwrapped donations can be dropped off at any of the
Columbus flower shop locations during store hours as well as at the Columbus
hospital at 630 Children’s Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43205.
