Mitt Romney against Closure of Guantanamo Bay

Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate, thinks it would be a big mistake to close Guantanamo Bay, something that the Bush administration is thinking of doing.

He said that the Guantanamo Bay detainee facility was ideal to keep terrorists away from the US legal system and it also serves the purpose of protecting the US from terrorists. Romney said that terror suspects should be kept at Guantanamo Bay so that they do not get the protection afforded by the American court system.

The Bush administration is close to making a decision on shutting Guantanamo Bay and moving terror suspects housed there to other military prisons.

Romney has promised to wage a war against terrorism if he gets elected as president.
