When in Destin Go After the Bulls

This past summer, we spent a day on a Destin inshore fishing charter. 

In the past, my three sons and I had always gone out in the ocean for our charter fishing memories. The inshore fishing experience was not only exhilarating but it was downright fun.

Captain JJ left the dock around 6:15 am. We prepared ourselves for the day of fishing by bringing water, sandwiches, sunscreen, and a good amount of beer. 

The day started slowly and continued that way for several hours. Most of the Fishing Charters that day had either caught nothing or maybe just one or two. We had a few strikes, however had nothing to show for it.

Captain JJ was not to be denied. He found a spot that was full of Bull Reds, one bigger than the next. If you have ever caught a Bull Red, you can imagine our thrill as we hooked over twenty and landed a few over a dozen.

Bull Reds are not easy to hook and then once hooked are determined to not get landed. 

For each of us, it was our first encounter with the Bull Reds and gave us a tremendous respect for that fish. As a first time inshore fishing experience, the Bulls gave us plenty of stories and lasting memory.
