India-China bilateral trade for 2014 stood at US$ 70.25 billion. India’s exports to China were US$ 11.98 billion whereas China’s exports were US$ 58.27 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of US$ 46.29 billion. It is hoped that with increased trade relations between these two Asian giants, India would be able to narrow the trade deficit with China in the coming years by exporting more value added items, food products and IT services.
