Ephraim Global Appoints Ivar Frandsen As Chief Administrative Officer

Ephraim Global, the Tokyo-based asset management company, has appointed Ivar Frandsen to the role of Chief Administrative Officer. Reporting directly to Chief Operational Officer Hajime Fujiharu, Mr. Frandsen will be responsible for the company’s internal operations, performance assessment as well as portfolio reporting capabilities. Additionally, he will also supervise local finance and legal affairs on behalf of Ephraim Global.

Mr. Frandsen joins Ephraim Global from Walden where he occupied the position of senior vice president with responsibility for the firm’s financial management in its EMEA and frontier markets division. He has been a member of Walden for 7 years assuming a number of roles including that of senior vice president and senior adviser in respect to the firm’s fixed income and equity trading activities.

Prior to Walden, Ivar has worked at Danske Invest in Denmark for 5 years, where he qualified as a financial adviser before becoming a portfolio manager.

Effective November 16, Mr. Frandsen will assume his responsibilities as chief administrative officer at Ephraim Global from Ryo Iwadare, who has held the position on an interim basis since the death of Nobuhiko Sakai earlier this year. Given his performance, Mr. Iwaadare will remain as a principal consultant to Ivar Frandsen and assist him in his regulatory duties.

Caleb Gotch, Senior Vice President at Ephraim Global, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Ivar in our ranks. He brings with him a great deal of experience pertaining to both operational as well as financial activities which makes him the best choice for this role. He will be joining Ephraim Global at a very opportune time in our development as we further consolidate our business and improve our fund management proficiency”.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Mr. Frandsen said: “I am glad to be joining Ephraim Global at such an important time in the company’s development. I have personally held Mr. Sakai in very high regard and look forward to further improving the company’s administrative capabilities in supporting the success of both Ephraim Global and its clients”.
