Shelly Wilson, author of the book 28 Days to a New You and host of the Incomparably Comparable radio show will be giving a radio interview of dream analyst David Rivinus on Wednesday, January 27 at noon, Pacific Time. The show can be heard at www.vividlife.me/ultimate/author/shelly-wilson/.
The subject will be dreams and how they are simultaneously common to all of us and unique to each individual dreamer. “It’s a perfect topic for an interview about dreams,” says Rivinus. According to him, everyone dreams and there are qualities of dreams that almost all dreamers can relate to. “At the same time, no two dreams are identical. In fact, very often the same dream symbol dreamt by two dreamers can have entirely different meanings,” he explains.
The title of the radio show—Incomparably Comparable—highlights the very issue that Rivinus is referring to. According to the show’s host, Shelly Wilson, the show seeks to, “acknowledge our oneness while celebrating our uniqueness.” Says Rivinus, “All you have to do is teach a class on dream interpretation to realize just how varied dreams can be.” He feels that the show is an ideal forum for pointing this out. He gives the example of two dreamers who both had dreams about being in their father’s house. “One dreamer had a happy upbringing in a Roman Catholic family; the other was the victim of sexual abuse.” Rivinus says that, for the Catholic dreamer, even the term “father’s house” had associations with spirituality and peace. “This image was reinforced by her wholesome upbringing,” he says. By contrast, the second dreamer associated her father’s house with nothing but pain and humiliation. “So there you had two dreams, each about a house, but with absolutely antithetical symbolism.”
