The Colonial Mexico Road Motorcycle Tour Is Available From MotoDiscovery

The Country of Mexico has always been a special place to the MotoDiscovery Team. After all this is where it all began for us over 30 years ago. We began operating a couple tours a year through the country, and after the success of those tours expanded to what we are today. Operating some of the most comprehensive motorcycle tours around the globe. Each year we make it a point to go back to the area where it all began for a little appreciation and culture.

One of the more popular tours we provide through Mexico is the Colonial Mexico Road Tour. This tour takes place over 9 days and covers 1,250 miles of riding. The tour also leaves from Texas which allows riders to bring their own motorcycle on the tour if they desire. The Colonial Mexico Road Tour is just as the name states, a road tour. The entirety of the ride takes place on paved roads and is suitable for any type of motorcycle. This is also a ride that can be navigated easily by those with touring experience.

One reason the Colonial Road Tour is a favorite among riders is the city of San Miguel de Allende. In 2013 it was voted as the top city in the world by the travel magazine Conde Nast. We at MotoDiscovery have felt this way ever since we first arrived in the city. The city provides an old world charm that is hard to find these days. With cobblestone streets, ringing church bells, and lively plazas, the city is a must see when you are in the area.

While riding to San Miguel you will also experience one of the most famous motorcycle roads in Mexico, the Sierra Gorda. Here you will climb next to the coffee plantation shrouded hills of the tropical eastern slopes of the Sierra Madres. When you reach the top you will begin an amazing descent down to the altiplano. There are spectacular desert views as you twist through the mountain curves. You will love the ride throughout the Sierra Gorda.

San Miguel is not the only colonial city on the trip. We will also visit Zacatecas and the small village of Santiago. The remote mining town of Real de Catorce will provide you with one of the most memorable overnight stays you have had. This town was once a ghost town, but is slowing beginning to come to life.

Experience Colonial Mexico like never before with the Colonial Mexico Road Tour from MotoDiscovery.
