Novice Obama Still Learning The Ways

Senator Barack Obama exploded into the 2008 election scene and he proclaimed that he was on a crusade to cleanse the US politics. However, five months down the line after setting a gruelling pace, Obama still finds himself in the shadow of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama has not managed to overtake Hillary Clinton although he has the charisma and charm. This is primarily due to his inexperience and his idealism which does not hold weight.

Obama is trying to become to the first black president of America but he joined the race after just two years in the Senate.

For months we have been seeing Hillary Clinton leading the Democratic race for nomination with 35 percent, Obama in the second place with 23 percent while John Edwards is in the third place with roughly 14 percent of the votes in national polls.

According to Kavita Masthoff of the USAElectionPolls.com, Obama does not have to take a lead in the polls but he has to gain momentum before the end of the year in order to pose a serious threat to Clinton.

There is no doubt that Obama does manage to attract crowds, which he says shows that people want a change. However, Obama has not managed to take the sheen off Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

On the other hand in the first three months of 2007, he raised $25 million. This was just a million less than what Clinton raised in the same period. It is believed that Obama will be able to raise more money in the next accounting period which will help him to pose a tougher challenge to Clinton.
