McCain Might Pull Out Of Presidential Race By September

John McCain is reducing his campaign staff and analysts are predicting that by September he might drop out of the presidential race.

According to analysts, McCain could drop out the 2008 presidential race if his poll ratings continue slipping and his fundraising efforts do not bear results. The speculation started after McCain clashed with the Republicans’ conservative base on immigration and he also alienated independent voters when he backed President George Bush on increasing the number of troops in Iraq.

However, this is something that the McCain camp is vehemently denying.

A poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports showed that McCain is joint third with Mitt Romney and has just 10 percent support from Republican voters. While Fred Thompson has 27 percent and Rudy Giuliani has 28 percent.

Another poll conducted in Iowa showed that McCain has just 6 percent support and he was placed in the fifth spot behind Mike Huckabee.

McCain has already trimmed his staff with the hopes of saving money and there is a possibility that he might further reduce his campaign staff.

Though the immigration issue has had a negative impact on McCain, the one thing that both supporters and critics agree on is McCain’s determination, and that is the only reason why he may not leave the race even if the odds are against him.

The second fundraising quarter for the presidential candidates comes to a close by June-end. So, by mid-July McCain’s results will be known. It is only then a clear picture will emerge.
