Ron Paul Not Invited To Iowa Presidential Candidates’ Forum

On June 30, 2007, Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance will host a presidential candidates’ forum. Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson and Tom Tancredo will all be participating in the forum.

However, Ron Paul will not be there.

Earlier many Ron Paul supporters thought that he was invited for the forum but decided against participation. However, it now comes out that Ron Paul was not invited at all.

Ron Paul’s Iowa campaign office assumed that the invitation might have been misplaced or it was just an oversight. Lew Moore, Ron Paul’s campaign manager, got a shock when he called Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, and found out that Paul had not been invited and as a result he would not be allowed to participate.

Moore said that Failor refused to explain why Ron Paul had not been invited. Even Steve Scheffler, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance, was not ready to talk to Moore.

One wonders why Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance decided against inviting a candidate who has been leading in practically all the online polls.

The strangest thing for Ron Paul might be that ABC News would like him to take part in a debate which will be held on August 5, 2007 at Des Moines, and it will be telecasted nationally.
