The "West Ashley" area of Charleston is a happening, growing place. Located just west of downtown Charleston, in between the Stono River and the Ashley River, this area has becoming a hotspot for not only businesses and restaurants, but wonderful affordable home options. With older and new construction neighborhoods, just off I-526, it's not hard to see why many are flocking to this part of Charleston.
There are many homes available, whether single family, townhomes, condos, or lots to build on. Read what one seller has to say about her West Ashley condo:
What can you tell us about your neighborhood?
It is quiet, and owners respect each other and their property. The tall back patio fencing (which will be upgraded soon) gives added privacy for each home owner.
What do you love about your town?
I have lived in West Ashley for 30+ years. It is convenient for shopping, schools, work and hanging out with friends.
Grocery stores and other conveniences?
Stores, schools, work and daycare is convenient for us. West Ashley seemed like a central area for all of these.
Where are your favorite places to eat?
We like to eat at Zen Asian Fusion, Bear E Patch Cafe, Bessinger’s BBQ, The Glass Onion, and really trying all different types of restaurants in the area.
What do you love about the area?
A few other things that I can mention are the beauty of the low country and everything that historical Charleston has to offer.
What other things do you love/enjoy about the area?
I love going to Folly Beach with my daughter and granddaughter...simply beautiful places and a short drive from our condo.
What are your average monthly utility costs and with whom?
Electric with SCE&G- depending on season, $75-200 monthly
Comcast cable tv/internet (based on package)
Charleston Water, trash, sewer, landscape and termite all covered by HOA Regime
Anything else? Neighborhood amenities?
We have a nice size pool with security entry and a gym to work out, plus a clubhouse to host parties.
