Paris Hilton first interview since jail release on “Larry King Live”

Paris Hilton plans to appear on “Larry King Live” for her first interview after being released from jail. Bridget Leininger, a spokeswoman for King, confirmed the interview on Saturday saying: “We do have Paris on Wednesday. She’ll do the whole hour.”

ABC and NBC were reportedly competing for the first interview until Friday when both companies announced they no longer wanted the interview. Both networks were embarrassed by reports that they were paying Paris for the first interview.

“Larry doesn’t pay for interviews or do ground rules,” said Leininger. Elliot Mintz, Hilton’s spokesman, has not commented on the interview.

The “Simple Life” star was put behind bars earlier this month after she was convicted of driving on a suspended license. She was sentenced to 45 days in jail but will only serve 23 days due to good behavior and overcrowding in the jail.

The hotel heiress has sparked media frenzy since entering jail. On Friday transportation officials announced they would temporarily ban parking on several streets in her neighborhood on Monday. Resident in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood has already complained about the noise and heavy traffic that is caused by the media pursuing Hilton.

Hilton is expected to be released Tuesday and appear for her first interview since her release from jail on Wednesday. “Larry King Live” will air from 9 to 10 p.m.
