Right now you can register for your Master’s of Divinity program offered by St Athanasius and St Cyril Coptic Orthodox Theological School. The Master of Divinity is a 72-unit degree that is designed to prepare qualified Orthodox students for ordination to the priestly ministry in the Orthodox Church. Students that have completed undergraduate level degrees at St. Athanasius and St. Cyril are eligible to enroll in this program.
The Master of Divinity program is designed to be completed in three years by full time students. To achieve this, full time students would enroll in an average of 12 credits in course work per semester and include summer courses as well. Should full time students not enroll in summer coursework, the program would conclude after four years.
Exceptional circumstances may warrant the Master’s of Divinity program to be spread over a longer period of time. Students that have an illness, disability, or employment requirements may get permission from the Faculty counsel in order to prolong the program. However, the program must be completed within seven years of enrollment.
It is through Orthodox Christian theological education, research, and scholarship, ACTS seeks to edify the Church throughout the world—directly through the preparation of bishops, priests, deacons, servants, scholars, and leaders to teach the Orthodox faith. The Master of Divinity Program will sufficiently prepare students for ordination for ministry in the Orthodox Church. Please call us if you have any questions about the application.
